Our Story

We are the Robbins Nest Alliance — caregivers, veterans, survivors, and relentless advocates for brain health and human dignity.
What began as a personal story became something larger: a mission to bring clarity, compassion, and connection to families navigating life after brain injury, dementia, Parkinson’s, and the quiet exhaustion of caregiving.
For many families, the moment everything changes does not come with warning. One diagnosis, one accident, one unexplained shift in memory or behavior—and life becomes something entirely different.
We know this reality because we lived it.
Before Robbins Nest Alliance existed, we were simply a family building a life together. We had plans, routines, laughter, and the quiet belief that tomorrow would look a lot like today.
Then brain injury and neurological disease entered our story.
What followed was a world few people understand until they are forced to walk through it themselves:
doctors’ appointments that raise more questions than answers,
symptoms that don’t fit neatly into a diagnosis,
caregivers trying to hold families together while quietly carrying more weight than anyone can see.
We discovered quickly that many families face this journey feeling isolated and overwhelmed. The medical language is complicated. The emotional toll is heavy. And the support systems meant to help often feel impossible to navigate.
Robbins Nest Alliance was created so that families facing these realities would not have to feel alone.
Our work focuses on education, advocacy, and connection for those living with brain injury, dementia, Parkinson’s, and other neurological conditions. We aim to translate complex medical information into language families can understand, share real caregiving experiences, and create resources that bring clarity in moments when everything feels uncertain.
Behind this mission are two voices — a physician who has spent a lifetime treating others, and a caregiver who learned firsthand what it means to hold a family together when illness changes everything.
Together, those perspectives form the heart of Robbins Nest Alliance.
This organization exists because the path through neurological illness can be confusing, frightening, and deeply isolating. But knowledge helps. Shared experience helps. Community helps.
And sometimes the most powerful thing someone can hear is simply this:
You are not alone.
One mission.
Two voices.
Infinite impact.
